Zero Chemical Pesticides or Synthetic Fertilizers

At our farm, we take pride in using only natural methods to grow our crops. We don't use any chemical pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, and even organic pesticides are not an option for us. We feel that protecting the environment and wildlife around us is just as important producing high-quality produce.

Soil Health

As farmers, we recognize that soil health is paramount to the success of our crops. Our approach to farming involves not only growing vegetables but also nurturing the soil. We achieve this by planting cover crops, rotating our crops, and incorporating plants that enrich the soil with nutrients. Furthermore, we minimize tillage to preserve the integrity of our soil.

Pest & Disease Control

At our farm, we prioritize the health and happiness of our crops as the best defence against pests and diseases. We use a variety of methods such as physical barriers, crop rotation, insect netting, landscaping fabric, companion planting, variety selection, and handpicking, to control pests. By keeping our plants healthy, we ensure that they have the ability to stand up any challenges that come their way.

Water Conservation

Our farm is committed to conserving water, and we've taken steps to achieve this goal. One of these steps is installing a drip-line irrigation system that directs water only to the root zone of each plant. This not only reduces water consumption but aids in disease and weed control.

Biodiversisty

Creating a biodiverse garden is not only important for the environment, but also for the health of our local ecosystem. By incorporating native Manitoba plants, we can attract beneficial insects and pollinators, while providing seed and habitat for birds and mammals with native grasses. We believe in coexisting with all forms of life, everything plays an important role in the food chain. Join us in creating a thriving and sustainable environment for all.
